Are you in the market for an exotic pet? A small line of shops just north of the main Dongdaemun area is just for you.
Hedgehog anyone?
Did you know people kept chipmunks as pets?
Beetle?
The one that impressed me the most were these. Read the sign correctly, yes those are prairie dogs. I thought it would be illegal to sell these, but according to wikipedia, as of 2008 it is legal to catch and sell prairie dogs in the USA. I thought they must be under some sort of conservation law, but I guess not.
Next time you're around Dongdaemun, try to find this market . My boyfriend really wanted you to find it, so he made you all this map. It's on the opposite side of the Cheonggechong from the main shopping area. You can get all sorts of pets here from the normal ones like dogs, cats and fish, to some of these unusual ones that I've shown here. Personally, I don't want to have any pet, exotic or normal, but it's interesting to have a look anyway!
Do you have a map in english??
