Just something I ran across on my way home the other night. If you can't see what's going on here, the man is running a torch over the pig's head and there is a pile of pigs heads to the left waiting to get torched... My walk home is never boring!
I am aware that in Asia they are using every part of an animal. So they does in Europe too, but not all people like to eat them. It's a matter of habit and gusto, after all :)
I've eaten pig's head, but it doesn't look anything like this when it's on the table. If you are interested in that photo, check out this page: http://smileyjkl.blogspot.com/2010/06/food-firsts-in-jeonju.html Believe it or not, it tasted quite good, but it was images in my mind like this one that kept me from eating more than two bites of it...
That was exactly our theory too, but since I have no idea really I didn't want to write that up there sounding smart only to be shut down by someone who knows about this stuff.. I can't imagine what else it could be...

ReplyDeleteI'm trying to figure out what exactly he's doing--perhaps singeing the hair off the head before it gets turned into meorigogi?
